Again this image is in reference to “Shadow over Innsmouth”, in the story the inhabitants are apart of a group called the “Esoteric order of Dagon” an evil religion that partook in sacrifice; the unfortunate souls were left to the ocean and fed on by the creatures they worshipped. In this piece I tried to avoid a direct depiction as I wanted to use another of H.P Lovecraft’s common themes, that the monsters the characters face in these stories are hideous and indescribable, beyond mankind’s comprehension.
