This piece was inspired by H.P Lovecraft’s poem “Night Gaunt” a poem about faceless monsters that would attack “the author” in his dreams and take him away to strange other-worlds. In the image I wanted to depict the creature in a way that was less obvious so that the reader would see the poem in the piece, read it and examine the artwork to find the shape of the figure described, also because of the emphasis on dreams I wanted the view to be obscured and in darkened cold colours.
